This class is a step up from our entry level
class. Our guides will show you traditional west coast methods for
catching Great Lakes Steelhead. Classes range from Spey fishing
techniques to fishing heavy sink tips and floating lines with traditional
and local mid west fly patterns. Dates:
Nov. 21,22,23
The
first evening classroom session covers steelhead behavior
on a season long basis. We go in depth on aquatic insects that steelhead
feed on, how to best imitate them, and techniques used to present
them in the most natural way possible. We will cover tackle and
rigging in depth, and we will discuss techniques for fighting big
fish on light tackle.
On
the second day we wade the Pere Marquette River with
a guide/instructor for some hands-on instruction. We will point
out some kinds of lies that hold fall steelhead and help you master
the casting techniques. An evening classroom session follows.
On
the final day we will split into groups of two and take
a guided float trip along the scenic Pere Marquette.
