Josh has been fishing in Michigan since he was 5 years old.  His stepfather introduced him into fishing on beautiful Lake Huron in the late 70’s chasing salmon and steelhead, thus a fishing fanatic was created.  Josh’s father lived in Grayling where Josh spent countless days on the famed Au Sable River fishing for whatever would bite.

Beginning his guiding experiences on the Big Manistee in 2005 with plugging and bottom bouncing being the name of the game, Josh tried his luck with fly fishing in 2005.  Beginning on lakes and ponds fly fishing for bass and bluegill, Josh has rounded out his fishing and entomology experience by working and managing the fly shop at the Pere Marquette River Lodge for the past 4 1/2 years.  Fishing, hanging out tying flies, fishing some more, absorbing information from people like Dick Pobst and long time guide Jac Ford, Josh has been able to take his passion for fly fishing to the next level.  Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Guide since 2008, Josh’s laid back and easy going approach makes him a great choice for beginners and kids. Truly this guy fishes to live and lives to fish.
