John Miller

John grew up in the Catskills Mtns. in upstate New York.  He began tying flies and fly-fishing at an early age, perfecting his skills on the Esopus, Kaaterskill, Plattekill, Beaverkill and Schoharie Rivers.

He has been a guide and fly-fishing instructor for over 15 years.  He has instructed and guided at the Delaware River Club where he mastered his skill of Entomology under the guidance of Al Caucci and Bob Nastasi.  He has guided for the West Branch Angler on the Upper Delaware River System and also in west Michigan for Matt Supinski at The Gray Drake Lodge.  He has also been an Orvis endorsed guide since 2002.  He is now instructing for the Pere Marquette River Lodge.

His knowledge of aquatic entomology and proper photographic techniques has enabled him to capture stunning photos that have appeared in various articles and books, including the soon to be re-released “Trout Stream Insects” by Dick Pobst.

John now resides in west Michigan as Director of Education at the Pere Marquette River Lodge. Come take a class or get out on the water with John and enhance your knowledge and love for the great rivers and fishery we have here in Michigan.
